Wellness Days At Aslan's

In addition to bringing our cats for checkups, Dr. Megan Dundas from the Rhinebeck Animal Clinic visits our sanctuary once a month for wellness days ... Where the hard to trap ferals are tended to as well as our other cats. These visits are crucial to the success and well being of our animals.

Our Staff At Aslan's Cats

We, at Aslans Cats are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated staff that are integral to the success of Aslans Cats.
The Speenburg family consisting of Mary, Louise, and Robert have been with us for a year now and without them, we would be remiss.
We thank them for their incredible work and are very grateful to have them as part of our team at Aslans Cats.

Welcome To Aslan's Cats Sanctuary

Man Ray is the newest cat to adopt the latest style at Aslan's Cats. The Style, designed by Sally Torbie, is a universal one, that both sexes can wear. It gives each cat a sense of pride and confidence. We anticipate that the style will be worn by many other cats, even beyond the sanctuary.

The cats here at the sanctuary are concerned about the environment and therefore believe in recycling. They have made a commitment to recycle leaves as their favorite toy. The pic above to the right is Goodness expressing her interest.

Our Mission

Aslan's Cats was founded to help cats that are positive for Feline Leukemia. We are unique because the cats live in a house, a home. They are not segregated to a separate building. We do this so the cats get alot of love and attention round the clock. We take in only Feline Leukemia positive cats and kittens, friendly or feral, because there are so few places for them to go. They live out their lives in a stress free, loving environment. They live in a two story, light filled spacious home with a fully enclosed back yard, where they can bask in the sun, look at the birds and squirrels, but remain safe.

The cats are given high quality food, vitamins and supplements. They are frequently taken to our veterinarians. We use many life saving treatments, working with both allopathic and holistic medicines. We are even using newer treatments to help boost their immune systems to enable them to live longer and healthier lives.

We are hoping our work will help Feline Leukemia cats everywhere, not just at Aslan's Cats.

We want to help educate people about this disease to be less fearful of it, so they will consider adopting Feline Leukemia Positive cats.

Our goal is to give the cats quality lives, filled with love and joy, no matter how long or short.

Aslan's Devasted By Hurricane Irene

lil Red looking out the window at the neighbourhood cats

As many of you know, Aslan’s Cats was devastated by Hurricane Irene on August 28, 2011. The house was half submerged in flash flood waters. Eight of our cherished kitties lost their lives. All of our possessions were destroyed. This tragedy was overwhelming.

Bolstered by the outpouring of help and concern, the painful process of rebuilding began. We’ve come a long way in a short time! We received monetary donations that we were able to use toward construction. We had a small army of dedicated and talented volunteers who literally tore down walls and rebuilt them. While we have more to do, we are well on our way to recovery … THANKS TO YOU!

Freshly Painted House!

In June of this year, we were fortunate to have the a facelift on the exterior of the house where Aslans Cats reside. It was fully paid for by the owners of the house.

The photo on the left is is back portion of house freshly painted ... look at those lovely flowers! The photo on the right is a photo of Sabrina and her mother, who came straight from Montreal, Canada, to visit Hilary and the kitties at the Sanctuary. Notice the lovely new color of the Sanctuary. It was just painted last week. It is a happy color and looks like a fantasy house with all the lovely flowers that Hilary put on the front porch.

The photo on the left shows our newly painted back patio with array of verdant flowers and the photo on the right is a shot of our friends from Sydney, Australia that came to visit us here at the Sanctuary.
