Aslan's Recovery

October 16 - View from the Kitchen Window

Aslan’s Cats is home to 60 leukemia positive cats.

We literally mean "home”. These cats are cage free in a country house with Hilary who lives with them full time and provides endless love.

As many of you know, Aslan’s Cats was devastated by Hurricane Irene on August 28, 2011. The house was half submerged in flash flood waters. Eight of our cherished kitties lost their lives. All of our possessions were destroyed. This tragedy was overwhelming.

Bolstered by the outpouring of help and concern, the painful process of rebuilding began. We’ve come a long way in a short time! We received monetary donations that we were able to use toward construction. We had a small army of dedicated and talented volunteers who literally tore down walls and rebuilt them. While we have more to do, we are well on our way to recovery ... THANKS TO YOU!
